Without a Trace

 
 

Charles Raymond Gauthier, a.k.a. Smokey, 87 at the time of his disappearance, Native American male, 5' 4" tall, 130 pounds, missing since March 27, 2001

Charles Gauthier, a.k.a. Smokey, was a dementia patient at the Richmond Residential Care Facility in Palmer, Michigan when he apparently walked away on March 27, 2001. No trace of Charles has ever been found.

The Negaunee Michigan State Police Post is the agency with jurisdiction over this investigation.

The Charles Gauthier missing-person case was investigated by Michigan State Police investigators from the Negaunee Post.

Troopers, State Police K-9 units, and search personel from Marquette County Search and Rescue, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary searched the Palmer, Michigan area on foot as well as with ATVs, vehicles, and aerial assests.

No trace of Gauthier was found.
