Burt Crawford is a K-9 Reserve Deputy with the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department in Michigan. His work with scent hounds spans over 40 years. Burt has been training bloodhounds since 1996. He has participated in seminars with LEBA, NPBA, NAPWDA and Old Dominion. While most of his K-9 calls involve responding to investigative requests from detectives in the greater-Detroit, Michigan metropolitan area, he also travels statewide in times of need.

When he is not working Winston, his current bloodhound, he's often helping others learn more about working bloodhounds. He has instructed detectives on how to collect and preserve scent evidence as well as use bloodhounds as an investigative tool at Auburn Hills Community College. Burt is also an instructor with Virginia's Old Dominion K-9.
